Chapter 173: Meet Stout
Chapter 173: Meet Stout
"happy!"
As a mercenary, Dexter liked people who were motivated, so he gave Vincent some tips.
"The crew cut is a bionic robot from the military technology department. They have a supervisor named Meredith Stout who is very anxious about this matter.
I suggest you meet with this Stout and discuss things with him. It will be very helpful for you to carry out this mission."
Dexter gave Vincent Stout's contact information.
"alright."
Vincent nodded, it wouldn't hurt to meet this Stout.
He was about to get out of the car, but was stopped by Dexter.
"Mr. Vincent, please be alert when you work. We have come from the sword and gun, so don't lose face."
Vincent got out of the car and called Stout according to the contact information given by Dexter.
After the communication was connected, Vincent saw that the person on the other side was a very capable female agent. Perhaps because she had experienced a lot of hardships, wrinkles appeared on her forehead.
Although he couldn't see the whole picture, Vincent could tell at a glance that Stott's right hand holding the cigarette was very impressive. As expected of a company dog, he was well-equipped.
"I'm Stott. Who the hell are you? Who told you this phone number?"
"Oh my god!" Vincent didn't expect that the old lady would be so irritable. "Hey, don't be nervous. I heard that your convoy was hijacked?"
Suddenly, Vincent frowned and seemed to hear a wailing sound from the communication frequency band.
Stout did not try to hide her feelings. Perhaps she was annoyed by the man's wailing, so she said to her men, "Go, shut his mouth."
Then he said to Vincent impatiently: "What do you know? My time is precious, but I don't have time to waste with you."
"It's not convenient to talk about this on the phone, right? How about we meet in person?"
Stout thought about it and agreed to Vincent's request, thinking that a face-to-face meeting would help him better control the situation.
"Sure, get off the SkyTrain and head towards NID. I'll be waiting for you in the drainage ditch under the viaduct."
Vincent hung up the phone and walked towards the sewer. Fortunately, Dexter dropped him off nearby and it didn't take long for him to get there.
Vincent walked over to the area and prepared to observe the situation. Looking down the drainage ditch from the viaduct, he saw Stout was already waiting there. It seemed that they had been active nearby just now.
"Yeah, she came in a Chevrolet, a classic model of military technology. Wow! She has two bodyguards with her? I hope she can be more polite. I don't want to get beaten."
Vincent walked down the stairs and towards the drain below?
The stairs were made of steel and made a clanging sound when stepped on. Stott and the others were not deaf, so of course they could hear the noise, and her bodyguards immediately stood guard with guns.
"My name is Meredith Stout. Are you the one who called?"
As he said this, Stott extended his right hand, ready to shake hands with Vincent.
Vincent did not doubt him and stretched out his right hand, saying, "Yes, it's me."
Unexpectedly, this was just a cover. He was knocked to the ground by Stout's bodyguard with an electric cannon due to his carelessness.
"Fuck! What are you doing?"
Vincent was stunned and quickly stood up to fight back, but someone pointed a gun at his head. Now he could only surrender.
"You want to blackmail me, huh? You idiot? And you dare to negotiate with me?!"
One of the bodyguards pressed Vincent onto the hood of the car, pulled out the wire from Vincent's wrist, and connected it to the polygraph.
Another bodyguard pulled a man out of Stott's car. The man was beaten black and blue, and looked aggrieved. Vincent finally knew who made the wailing sound.
"What are you doing, Meredith!"
Stott, clearly in a state of rage, yelled at him, "Shut up!"
Turning to look at Vincent, he said, "Now answer my question, and be honest. Are you here alone?"
Vincent was in trouble now. He was at a disadvantage and could only answer honestly.
"I came here alone."
The bodyguard's eyes lit up red, a stream of data flashed across his eyes, and he said, "Tell the truth."
Stout was still a little worried, so he quickly asked another bodyguard to release a military-grade drone to conduct a carpet search.
She pointed at the beaten man. "Now listen carefully. Is this Anthony Gilchrist your contact? Did he leak the news about the convoy?"
"Oh, that unlucky guy? I don't know him. But when I was on the road, I also robbed the company's convoy. I know all the repeat offenders. Maybe I can help you find the traitor.
I know who robbed your cargo, and I can help you. But in return, you have to help me."
Stout looked at the bodyguard, who said, "Truth."
Stout heard Vincent's answer and kept going in circles, wondering whether to trust him.
He patted the bodyguard's shoulder and said, "Let him go first. I want to hear what he has to say."
Upon hearing this, the bodyguard quickly let go of Vincent's hand.
Vincent flexed his wrist and said, "It would have been better if we had done this earlier."
"Shut your dog mouth and speak up!"
Vincent wanted to be naughty at this time, so he raised his eyebrows and said, "Do you want me to fall in love with a dog's mouth, or tell me quickly?"
Stout's face turned black and he was obviously in a bad mood. He raised his hand slightly and the bodyguard put his finger on the trigger of the pistol.
Seeing that Stott was serious, Vincent didn't dare to play tricks anymore and said quickly: "I need a robot called Flathead. It is in the hands of the people who hijacked your convoy. As long as you promise to give me the robot, I will help you."
As soon as he got down to business, Stout's expression immediately became serious and he asked Vincent, "How are you going to deal with them?"
"Of course we robbed them!" Vincent looked around and realized he was alone, so he changed his words and said, "But they are in a hurry to sell now, so buying them with money is also an option."
"Well... okay." Stout thought for a while and took out a credit chip from the car, "But you have to buy it with our money."
"That's so embarrassing."
Vincent said sorry, but he still honestly took Stout's credit chip.
"Use this chip to pay, and you don't have to worry about anything else."
After saying that, Stout got in the car and left.
Vincent could still vaguely hear Anthony cursing in the car.
"This unlucky guy, has he been caught?"
Vincent shook his head, ignoring the noise. Based on his experience, this Anthony was most likely a traitor in Military Technology.
He took out the credit chip given by Stout and tossed it. The company dogs were always ruthless. It was easy to get the money, but I was afraid it would be difficult to spend it.
There was probably some virus on this credit chip. Vincent felt that he should be more careful in his next actions.
