Chapter 60 The Monkey King
Chapter 60 The Monkey King
The two tribesmen hadn't anticipated that the young man, Ge, when enraged, could run so fast.
With tens of thousands of Drunken Flower Bees in between, the two of them couldn't catch up at all and could only watch as the young Ge charged headlong into the territory of the Ghost Monkey tribe.
Ghost monkeys are a large group with thousands of members. Their lifestyle is similar to that of more primitive, uncivilized savages, and they have their own unique social relationships.
They would also divide the area into different zones according to various functions, such as a sleeping area, a eating area, a prey storage area, a play area, and so on.
The Monkey King resides in the very center of the tribe, choosing the thickest and tallest tree as his dwelling. The monkeys live in trees and use branches and other items to create a tree nest that can shelter them from the wind and rain, and they also decorate it with various items.
However, their aesthetic sense is not very good. Most of the decorations they use are made of bones or similar materials. At first glance, it looks like a huge, pale white expanse, like a set from a horror movie.
Different ghost monkeys would compare the number of bones on their treehouses, believing that only the more powerful ghost monkey could obtain more bone decorations.
However, a large portion of the ghost monkeys don't actually hunt for themselves; the bones they use are mostly stolen from other animals, and sometimes they even steal bones from other ghost monkey treehouses.
Sometimes, the depravity of a group can be seen in the details of their lives.
The tribe had wiped out many groups of ghost monkeys, and their distribution structure was largely the same. So even though it was the first time that young Ge had encountered a ghost monkey group, he was able to accurately find the place he was looking for—the location of the ghost monkey king.
Any social creature will assign so-called "guardian" roles around its nest, and the phantom monkey is no exception.
Two monkeys, scratching fleas off each other, looked up and saw a human they envied rushing toward them.
Before they could even process their surprise, the human was already in front of them, holding something in his hand, and threw it at them.
Despite not knowing what the human was doing, their instinctive vigilance made the two monkeys immediately raise their long, slender, and flexible arms to block what the human was throwing.
Surprisingly, what the humans threw at them wasn't a weapon, but rather something sticky with a strong, enticing aroma that caught the monkey's eye.
The two monkeys rubbed their hands together unconsciously. The human had already passed them and run deeper into the area, followed by a buzzing sound.
The two monkeys looked up in terror and saw the swarm of Drunken Flower Bees that blotted out the sky. They tried to scatter and run away, but before they could take two steps, they were overwhelmed by the swarm of Drunken Flower Bees.
After the swarm of Drunken Flower Bees chased away the figure of young Ge, two extremely swollen ghost monkey corpses were revealed.
Young Ge was very self-aware and did not try to confront these ghost monkeys head-on. He would definitely run around them if he could, not giving them a chance to entangle him—if he was a step too slow, he might be caught up by the Drunken Flower Bees behind him, and young Ge was not going to gamble.
If any of the ghost monkeys dared to approach him, young Ge would immediately start with jam, ignoring everything else, and throw a handful of jam at them, letting the drunken bees entertain them.
Perhaps because the monkey tribe had never encountered such a situation before, under the astonished gazes of the two tribesmen behind him, the young man Ge actually charged straight ahead and arrived at the monkey king's residence.
Although they had the Drunken Flower Bees behind them as a means of attack, the number of ghost monkeys actually killed by the Drunken Flower Bees was not many—ghost monkeys weren't stupid, they didn't know to run away when they saw so many Drunken Flower Bees.
Only those that run slowly, and those that have been marked by young Go, will become the targets of the Drunken Flower Bee.
However, this did not affect the chaotic cries that rose and fell among the ghost monkeys. Before the young Ge even reached the ghost monkey king's residence, the chaos that had occurred in the tribe had already reached the ghost monkey king's ears through the cries.
The Demon Monkey King let out a sharper cry than the other demon monkeys, forcefully suppressing the panic in the tribe, and gathered most of the demon monkey warriors around him to prepare to deal with the intruders.
However, it clearly did not expect that the attacker was just a human. Based on the Monkey King's research on the tribe, this was even a human who had not yet reached adulthood.
An absurd feeling appeared in the eyes of the Monkey King. Before it could issue the order to capture the human, it saw the human give it a cold and cruel smile, and then throw the things it was carrying at it at it.
The Ghost Monkey King has a body twice the size of a normal Ghost Monkey, and his figure looks more robust than the slender one of ordinary Ghost Monkeys. Just as Chief Jing is the strongest orc warrior in the tribe, the Ghost Monkey King is also the strongest being in the Ghost Monkey clan.
Many demon monkey warriors surrounded the demon monkey king, treating the intruder, young Go, with seriousness.
With just one glance, young Ge realized that he had absolutely no way to get past the ghost monkey warriors and get close to the ghost monkey king, nor could he defeat so many ghost monkey warriors without transforming into a beast.
Even if he were to transform into a beast, he might not be a match for them alone. The fact that the Ghost Monkey tribe can hunt tribesmen and even treat them as prey naturally indicates that they have the strength to rely on.
But so what? Young Ge's gaze was cold. He wasn't there to fight; he was there to "deliver a gift."
Let's... accept his gift first.
A jar full of jam was thrown with all his might by young Ge, and it flew above the head of the Monkey King.
Without the Monkey King even having to lift a finger, the Monkey Warriors beside him had already alertly used their sharp claws to slice the small piece of wood in mid-air.
The rich jam inside suddenly scattered like a shower of flowers, pouring onto the Monkey King and some of the nearby Monkey Warriors.
Without a second thought, young Ge turned and ran away.
The swarm of Drunken Flower Bees behind him split into two columns without stopping. One half charged straight toward the Ghost Monkey King, while the other half continued to chase after the young man, Ge.
Young Ge wasn't surprised, after all, he didn't know how much jam was on him.
But this is even better. Seeing out of the corner of his eye the Ghost Monkey King and his Ghost Monkey warriors hastily resisting the Drunken Flower Bee swarm, young Ge immediately began circling around the Ghost Monkey clan's territory.
The ghost monkeys are not weak creatures, otherwise they would not be able to survive in the depths of Outpost 4. Even larger ghost monkeys are distributed in Outposts 5 and 6.
The previous ghost monkeys were killed by the Drunken Flower Bees only because they didn't have time to react. The Ghost Monkey King and his ghost monkey warriors were prepared in advance, so it's really unlikely that they would all be wiped out by the Drunken Flower Bees.
