Chapter 498 Stage Performance 1
Chapter 498 Stage Performance 1
"TRANSPARTAL!"
Just as the guillotine's blade was about to chop off Professor White and the unicorn's bodies, Beatrice produced a black magic wand and shouted a spell at the platform in the distance.
The moment the spell was uttered, thousands of golden beams of light shot out from the wand and quickly swirled upwards like a tornado.
In the blink of an eye, a beam of light enveloped the platform, enveloping the clown and the guillotine.
Then, with a loud "bang", thick black fog filled the entire stage, and a lot of smoke ran to the audience seats below.
"catch him!"
Beatrice gripped her wand tightly, leaped over the audience's heads and flew into the thick smoke.
Ivy followed closely behind, quickly bypassing the audience and running in from behind the stage.
"Cough, cough, cough!"
Unprepared, the black mist choked Ivy's throat. She covered her mouth with one hand and tried hard to wave away the mist in front of her with the other.
The air was filled with black smoke, and her eyes were stung red, her vision was blocked, and she could only rely on sound to determine the direction.
"Beatrice... cough cough cough..."
"Cough cough cough..."
"Beatrice, where are you... ahem..."
"hey-hey!"
Suddenly, a strange scream exploded in Ivy's ears. She was startled and her heart stopped for a second.
She could feel... there seemed to be something beside her, either next to her ear or in front of her.
Evil, it was the smell of evil, mixed with pungent black smoke, that drilled into her heart like a cold eel.
Ivy's legs were shaking as memories of the clown flooded back to her, awakening the fear that had been dormant for so long.
"Ms. Ivy!"
Suddenly, a strange touch touched her arm. Ivy started to panic at first, until Beatrice's white figure quickly appeared, she finally relaxed.
But the next second, what Beatrice said made her heart confused again.
"We have been deceived. This is a brilliant trick!"
"What do you mean?"
"This is witchcraft, not evil..."
Beatrice's words were powerful, but no one could understand what she said seriously.
Just as Ivy was puzzled, the black smoke slowly dissipated.
Ivy's vision finally became clear, but strangely, the guillotine and the clown were nowhere to be seen.
Apart from Ivy and Beatrice, the only people left on the stage were Professor White and the unicorn who were "rescued" in time.
What Ivy most unexpected was Ms. Bell standing next to Professor White.
Ms. Bell was wearing a 19th century nurse's dress, with her burgundy hair all tied up, and even the fine strands were gathered into a small and neat nurse's cap.
She was as calm and elegant as usual, and saluted the audience with her plump apple cheeks.
The audience below was stunned for a long time, and when they finally reacted, the crowd immediately erupted in warm cheers.
"He successfully conjured up three beauties!"
"One turns into three? That's amazing!"
"Bravo! Bravo!"
Applause and cheers came one after another, pushing the atmosphere to a climax.
There was applause at the scene, but Ivy still didn't understand what was going on here.
Where are the clowns and the guillotine? Why did Ms. Bell suddenly appear? Who made that weird noise just now? Didn’t Joshua go on stage with her?
No, she must figure out what's going on here... Ivy's mind was in a mess.
"Ms. Bell...what is going on?"
Ivy asked quietly, blinking.
Bell finished his greeting and looked at Ivy with a radiant look. She squinted her eyes and patiently explained:
"Ah! This is the magic trick that the professor and I performed for the audience. It's called - The Great Transfiguration! Isn't it amazing?"
"But what I just saw was a particularly ugly Joker performing on the stage..."
"Hey hey hey! How come you are ugly? My magic is the most powerful, advanced and popular in this land! Ordinary people can't imitate such thrilling magic as the Great Revival of a Living Person!"
"is it?"
Ivy shrank her neck, her expression indescribable.
Ms. Bell seemed a little strange today, but Ivy couldn't tell why. It might be because of the failed potion, which was as confusing as the fake wine and fake medicine.
Looking at Ms. Bell's smug expression, Ivy swallowed and continued to ask the question in her mind:
"But you two are wizards. You know witchcraft, so why do you still want to perform magic..."
"Well... I think magic is much cooler than witchcraft," Ms. Bell said disapprovingly.
"That's right! Magicians are much more handsome than wizards!" Professor White chimed in.
"Lululu!" The unicorn stuck out its tongue at Ivy and its tail shook around impatiently.
"Uh... would a pretentious wizard say something like that?"
Ivy frowned and muttered quietly. Unexpectedly, Ms. Bell heard it directly. She immediately curled her lips and spoke much louder:
"Ah! You kid, if you don't believe me, just listen..."
Ms. Bell put her hands on her hips angrily and stomped forward a few steps.
She saluted to the audience and placed her hands in front of her mouth in a trumpet shape:
"Magic——"
“Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo—”
The audience below immediately burst into enthusiastic cheers.
"Witches——"
“Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh”
The audience immediately turned into a low-pitched booing.
"Much better, isn't it?"
After saying that, Bell turned around and made a face at Ivy.
With a haughty "snort", Ms. Bell turned and left. She no longer paid any attention to Ivy and skipped off the stage with Professor White.
"cut!"
The unicorn was next. It gave Ivy a disdainful click of the tongue, turned around, and walked away, twisting its hips.
"Wait! Bell! I have something to tell you... Hey! Stop right there..."
Beatrice was the first to react. She followed the unicorn's footsteps and disappeared into the flowing darkness.
In a blink of an eye, the huge stage was left with only the stunned Ivy. When she finally came to her senses and tried to keep up with Beatrice, a hand suddenly appeared and clamped her arm tightly like an iron clamp.
"Ok?"
“We welcome our next performer!”
"Ok!"
Before Ivy could finish her exclamation, the tall host immediately grabbed her arm and dragged her back to the center of the stage.
"Wait! I'm not...I'm not..."
"Oh! It turns out she's a shy little girl!"
The host spoke in a standard London accent in a cheerful tone, and his appearance and tone were funny.
The audiences below laughed out loud, but Ivy's face remained grim and she couldn't laugh at all.
"I'm not preparing for a performance! I didn't even sign up!" Ivy struggled to break free from her restraints, her tone panicking.
"Haha! A humble girl!"
"I'm telling the truth! Go and look at the registration form. This is really my first time here!"
"Haha! Funny girl!"
Holy crap! Who hired this psychopathic host?
Ivy's face was drooped in annoyance. She was still struggling hard, and her anxious eyes occasionally swept across the audience below and the busy city in the distance.
She was busy. She was looking for Joshua, the clown, the conspiracy, the trouble...
"Look at this beautiful lady! Look at her exquisite outfit! She must have put a lot of effort into this competition! Right!"
"Yes—" the audience below shouted in unison.
She is sick! She is very busy and has no time to dress up or perform...
"Everyone, please give us some applause to encourage us!"
"it is good--"
Oops! I'm busy! Disaster is about to happen! The Chinese dock is in crisis again! I have to check for hidden dangers!
How can this audience be so calm! The clown is going to bring disaster to the world! You are going to be in trouble soon! I was given a death notice by the god of death for saving you!
Why are you clapping! Why are you shouting! Why are you turning on the flashlights! Why are you staring at me! Do you all want to see my performance? Do you all want to see me? Really... She was suddenly stunned.
The densely packed audience was screaming in the audience, and countless eyes were bright.
The lighting on the skirts was beautiful, and the velvet on the stage was soft and delicate.
A familiar feeling, a feeling of being the center of attention, a wonderful feeling...
An inexplicable excitement quickly spread and expanded in Ivy's heart. Her head was about to explode. A strong sense of self-conceit and vanity filled her chest.
"Come on Miss Ivy!"
Suddenly, she heard Christine's voice. Ivy looked around carefully and finally found the pair of blue eyes and clear smile in the corner of the stage.
Never mind! It's only 2 minutes!
As if she had made up her mind, Ivy bit her lower lip, smiled, took off Holmes' coat, and threw it to the excited Christine.
"OK, now!"
The host wisely left the stage, leaving Ivy standing alone in the center of the stage. She looked excited and proud, and her voice trembled slightly.
"Although there is no professional music equipment or shining lights here...but I won't blame Mr. Zhu, because I didn't wear those beautiful red fur boots. What's worse is that it's still ten days before Christmas..."
"I should have tailored a leather Christmas suit that fits me well, and I should have rehearsed a day or two in advance for the competition... But I wasn't surrounded by my dear sisters, nor was there a handsome boy from the junior high school who skipped classes, nor was there a bald, angry principal sitting in the front row..."
She rolled her eyes in dissatisfaction and quickly ran her fingers through her hair.
I have to say, this proud look is exactly the same as the mean girl in the chick flick.
After that, she shrugged and her voice suddenly rose:
"But! Oh my god! Who cares!"
"yeah--"
As soon as he finished speaking, the audience below burst into enthusiastic cheers again. This atmosphere was exactly what Ivy wanted.
So, when the whistles died down and the noise died down, she raised her eyebrows and announced her performance in a sweet voice:
"Then, Christine from the Paris Opera will perform a Christmas classic song and dance for everyone - Jingle Bell Rock! Woohoo!"
"Alas--"
