Chapter 33: The Earth's Core Sphere
Chapter 33: The Earth's Core Sphere
In the year 218 of the Galactic Era, the combined fleets of Earth's humans, Alpha, Beta, and Gamma, converged 18 light-years from the star Gliese 581.
The combined fleet traveled at near the speed of light in this space. A year later, the combined fleet detected traces of warship activity 1 light-year away.
"Unknown carbon-based civilization, this is the Vanguard of the Gliese 581 Cruise Fleet. Please detour immediately. No unauthorized navigation is permitted within 16 light-years of the star Gliese 581!" The combined fleet had just detected signs of activity from the warship ahead and decided to slow down and move forward when it received a long-range broadband vibration light wave signal.
"Vanguard, this is the Earth Human Alliance Fleet. Can you please explain the reason for the no-fly zone?" Commander Koru of the Earth Alliance Fleet instructed the response.
"Humans of Earth, please forgive us for not being able to disclose the reason; it is confidential."
"Vanguard, are you the creators of the gods of Thor?"
The other party was silent for a few seconds, then asked, "Humans of Earth, what is your relationship with the gods of Thor?"
"The gods of Thor have reached an agreement with us."
"What agreement?"
"Sorry, this is confidential."
"Humans of Earth, whatever agreement you have reached with Thor, this is a warning once again: please take a detour and do not set foot within 16 light-years!"
"What if we say no?"
"Hmph, Earth humans, don't think your fleet can run rampant. Your fleet's technology is just copied from those traitors like Thor. If we hadn't detected that you are carbon-based life forms, we would have opened fire long ago."
It can be confirmed that they are the creators of the gods of Thor.
"Vanguard, our warships are indeed modeled after the gods of Thor, but..."
"but what?"
"We must get to Gliese 581. All warships, full speed ahead!"
"A bunch of arrogant lunatics!"
Hundreds of large portals near the star Gliese 581 were activated, and batches of warships were teleported back to Gliese 581 from outside the star system. Subsequently, a fleet of 300,000 ships resembling divine messenger warships traveled at near the speed of light to intercept the Earth's combined fleet.
Eight and a half years later, the two sides were locked in a standoff 1200 million kilometers apart, about 8.6 light-years from the star Gliese 581.
"Humans of Earth, this is the Gliese 581 Interception Fleet. Return to base immediately. This is the final warning!"
The Earth Alliance Fleet remained motionless.
"Fire!" The Gliese fleet finally couldn't hold back any longer.
Tens of thousands of powerful laser beams fired at the Combined Fleet, streaking through space like a torrent of light.
The Earth's human warships had already activated their intelligent energy shields. When those beams of laser light touched the hull, they only emitted small halos, like pebbles falling into water, creating ripples of light.
Earth's human warships responded with the Sirius sniper starship, the Rutan sniper starship, a cruiser mothership, and a cruiser. To the astonishment of the entire Gliese interceptor fleet, the intelligent beam missiles fired by the Earth's human sniper starships were incredibly powerful, directly piercing and vaporizing countless enemy warships in front and behind. The Gliese interceptor fleet was thrown into chaos, with warships scattering to increase distance. To avoid being penetrated from the front and back, many warships rearranged themselves vertically, stacking themselves as much as possible.
Koru felt a mixture of pleasure and a cold laugh.
"UFO Team 1, release the light sphere."
Hundreds of flying saucers launched their light spheres in an instant. Now, the flying saucer light spheres have been modified by energy crystals, making them even more powerful than when they were on the moon Gaia. The hundreds of light spheres flew forward, exploding and disintegrating into a light filament network. This network extended and interconnected in all directions, linking with nearby light filament networks to form a large light filament network that was then scattered towards the enemy ships.
Sure enough, following the same pattern as the divine messenger warship, the entire Gliese interception fleet disappeared, as did the light net, and then the interception fleet reappeared in the same spot.
However, the Gliese interceptor fleet seemed to sense something was wrong, and all the warships quickly accelerated in the opposite direction and retreated.
The Earth Alliance Fleet pursued and took the opportunity to destroy many more Gliese warships.
Soon after, the entire Gliese interceptor fleet headed towards the star closest to Gliese. The combined fleet abandoned the pursuit and flew directly towards Gliese 581 at near-light speed.
Eight years later, the Earth Alliance Fleet arrived at the Gliese 581 star system. They were not intercepted by the Gliese fleet along the way. It seemed that they were waiting for the Earthlings to arrive so that they could have a decisive battle on their doorstep.
Galactic Era 236, Star Marker (1, 1, 6, 4c0).
Gliese 581 is a red dwarf star, about half the diameter of the Sun, with a surface temperature of over 3200 degrees Celsius.
The star Gliese 581 has six planets, and its planetary system is very similar to our solar system, with the first five planets being relatively close to the star.
The fourth planet, Tiange, is a super-Earth, about six or seven times the size of Earth, and closely resembles Earth. Its surface is covered by deep and vast oceans.
Tiange Star, a blue super-Earth, has 82% of its surface covered by ocean, giving it a deep blue appearance from space. Tiange Star has three satellites of varying sizes, the largest being the size of three moons.
The Earth Alliance Fleet slowly approached Tiange Star. Amazingly, Tiange Star truly resembled Earth. Surprisingly, however, Tiange Star was lifeless; the land was covered only in plants, devoid of animals, and the vast oceans were devoid of fish. Even the Tiange Star inhabitants seemed nonexistent. This silence was incongruous with its stunning beauty; to Earthlings, this planet should have been teeming with life.
Could something have happened on Tiange Star? The humans in the Joint Fleet made various speculations.
Earth Combined Fleet Commander Koru convened a teleconference.
"Everyone, I want to know what happened to this Celestial Star?"
"Commander, the results of the deep ocean exploration are in. There are no animals in the deep ocean. Could it be that the Tiange Star people have moved away?"
"This planet is so big, and it's the home planet of the Tiange people. If it were us, we wouldn't give up our home planet so easily, would we?"
"Not necessarily. It's also possible that the Tiange Star people moved away. After all, if they were an advanced civilization, they would have found many suitable planets to live on."
There's no need to hold onto our home planet.
"Everyone, remember when we were at Gliese 667C, Thor's fleet said, 'You'll know when you get there.' Now we've arrived, and we don't know anything."
The fleet's chief scientist, Academician Tom, awoke from his reverie and suddenly said, "Gentlemen, this is my guess. The gods of Thor want us to destroy an enemy, which is what they call the creator. We know that if the creator of the gods of Thor refers to all the Celestials, who knows how many star systems the Celestials are currently scattered across, and how long it would take us to destroy them? Therefore, the enemy that the gods of Thor are talking about is very likely a real person or something else!"
"If Academician Tom is right, how do we find this person or this thing? This planet is so big!"
"Since the gods of Thor sent us to this planet, Tiange, there must be something here, we just haven't found it yet."
"If there are truly important people or things on this planet, why wouldn't the Tiange Star people be on guard?"
"It could also be a scheme. On the surface, there seems to be nothing, but it's actually very well hidden."
"Everyone, there's a question: if there really is an enemy here threatening the gods of Thor, why don't the gods of Thor come and eliminate it themselves? That's the key question." Koru, after all, was a man of rich combat experience.
"Yes, that should be the key." Everyone agreed.
"From the scattered information we've gathered, we can reconstruct some facts. The Thor gods were likely created directly or indirectly by the Tiange aliens, resulting in some artificial intelligence machines or intelligent robots. These robots betrayed the Tiange aliens and stole the warships. Here are some hypotheses: The Thor gods nurtured the Tiancan people, claiming they wanted to form an expeditionary force. Their purpose was likely not to deal with the 'Descent of Light Civilization,' but rather with the Tiange aliens. As for why the Thor gods didn't come here personally to eliminate their so-called creator or an enemy, there are three hypotheses: First, the Thor gods searched for their creator but couldn't find them, perhaps due to limitations, or perhaps the creator was too well hidden; second, their creator was transferred by the Tiange aliens, and the Thor gods still believe they are on this planet; third, it's possible the Thor gods are deceiving us, setting a trap to make us fight the Tiange aliens so they can reap the benefits—this could also mean they want us to eliminate an enemy." Academician Tom made various logical deductions, but whether they were correct is currently unclear.
Things seem to be getting complicated, and there seem to be quite a few possibilities.
"Gentlemen, if there really is something here, we must find it. Otherwise, we won't feel at ease even if we occupy this planet. Deploy all frigates, assault ships, flying saucers, intelligent composite robots, and drones. Other large warships should be on standby for defense. We will conduct a three-day comprehensive search, exploring the continents, the oceans, and the Earth's core." Koru's style was indeed very tough.
"Yes, Commander."
In the sky above Tiange Star, large warships formed defensive formations in near-Earth orbit, while other warships rapidly searched the planet's near-space. UFOs flew even lower, at a distance of one thousand meters from the planet's surface. More than one hundred million unmanned aircraft traversed mountains, canyons, forests, grasslands, beaches, and rivers. Some intelligent composite robots were dispatched to caves and underground burrows, while many more intelligent robots dived deep into the sea. These robots released numerous deep-sea probes, which traveled rapidly through the deep ocean.
The initial plan for exploring the Earth's core involved reducing the output power of several hundred Sirius-class sniper ships to significantly shorten the drilling time, allowing for rapid drilling of deep holes into the Tiange Star continent. Intelligent robots and drones would then be deployed into these holes. However, for the sake of future human habitation safety and aesthetics, the Earth Alliance Fleet abandoned this plan.
After deploying numerous monitoring stations on the ground and in the deep sea, the sniper ship Rutan submerged into the deep sea and conducted a small-scale bombardment of the seabed, causing a powerful deep-sea earthquake. Fleet scientists monitored the earthquake and used the detected seismic waves to create a simulated map of the interior of Tiange Star. During the monitoring, scientists analyzed the velocity of the seismic waves, noting that they traveled faster through solid rock and slower through magma. By comparing seismic wave data from various monitoring stations using a supercomputer, they discovered what appeared to be a sealed region with a metallic outer shell within the magma core 5400 kilometers above the surface. The seismic wave velocity in this region exhibited a significant abrupt change, initially very slow and then noticeably faster. The supercomputer analysis determined that this sealed region with the metallic outer shell was spherical, approximately four kilometers in diameter, and with a metal shell thickness of about 200 meters.
Everyone in the Earth Alliance Fleet was excited. Could the creator that the gods of Thor spoke of be inside this sealed sphere with its metal shell?
How can this metal sphere be extracted from the Earth's core magma? If a hole more than four kilometers in diameter is forcibly drilled, it could trigger a supervolcanic eruption-like event, potentially damaging the planet's ecosystem and requiring significant time for Earth's humans to repair.
"Commander, my personal suggestion is that we shouldn't touch this sealed metal sphere. Since it's sealed in the Earth's core, there must be a reason for it. Since the gods of Thor are so afraid of that thing, perhaps that sealed metal sphere really can destroy the world." Tom, the fleet's chief scientist, advised Koru not to be hasty.
"Hmm, that's possible. But how did this sealed metal sphere get to the Earth's core?"
"I'm not entirely sure about that either. Maybe it was sent into the Earth's core in the early days, or maybe it was built right there in the Earth's core."
“Build it inside the Earth’s core?” Koru was somewhat surprised, but then he understood when he thought about how the “Light-Descent Civilization” created intelligent energy bodies.
"Then we'll have to return empty-handed." Koru was somewhat disappointed. If they couldn't move this metal sphere at the Earth's core for the time being, then humans on Earth couldn't migrate here in large numbers.
"Commander, we can first release animals onto this planet and transplant animal species from Earth."
"This is good."
A day later, hundreds of portals belonging to the Tiange people near the star Gliese 581 were destroyed. The combined fleet constructed dozens of large portals near Tiange, releasing large numbers of animals and fish onto the Tiange continent and ocean. Another group of human scientists were also teleported over. Based on the results of their extensive search and observations a few days earlier, the scientists began to make necessary artificial modifications to the surface of this Earth-like planet, all in preparation for a large-scale colonization.
After leaving some warships to guard the area, a large number of warships returned to Earth through the portal. In addition, dozens of Sirius sniper ships set off in batches towards several stars near Tengris 581, including the nearby star from which the Tengris fleet had fled. Several years later, they destroyed all the Tengris' portals located on the nearby stars.
