Chapter 162 Can You Let Me Get Up?
Chapter 162 Can You Let Me Get Up?
Lin Xi roughly knew why they were acting this way, but she didn't say anything and simply turned on the projector.
Duan Yiheng sat at the head of the table and tapped the table: "Before the meeting starts, you have three minutes. What do you want to ask?"
Li Ke couldn't hold back any longer and asked what everyone was thinking: "Secretary Lin, it really is..."
Duan Yiheng nodded: "Yes, she grew up in the Duan family since she was a child. Is there any other problem?"
"Then what about her and the second young master—"
“Nonsense.” Duan Yiheng glanced coldly at the person who asked the question. “Most things on the internet are just rumors. The fact that everyone here is here for a meeting shows that they are trustworthy in terms of both ability and character…”
As he said this, Duan Yiheng glanced at Chen Jingyi, who seemed to avoid his gaze and looked away.
Duan Yiheng chuckled and said, "There are some things I hope you will observe more and say less."
Xu Yu smiled and said, "Everyone's just curious."
Duan Yiheng: "I understand, that's why I gave you these three minutes. From now on, we're all colleagues, so there's no need to treat each other differently."
Lin Xi stood beside him, smiling warmly and gently.
"Alright," Duan Yiheng tapped the table with the nib of his pen, "Let's start the meeting."
Seeing that everyone had turned their attention away, Lin Xi puffed out her cheeks and let out a sigh of relief.
Turning her head, she met Duan Yiheng's gaze, which was carrying a slight smile.
She immediately straightened her posture and entered meeting mode.
On the projection screen were the priority items and timelines after the project was reassessed, and they were divided in great detail.
Duan Yiheng got straight to the point: "Manager Chen led the team to GKD for a meeting a couple of days ago. Everyone is already clear about the client's needs. Today, we need to clarify the specific tasks and timelines for each department."
Xu Yu nodded: "Based on the reassessed priorities, the payment system upgrade and risk management module optimization are the core tasks, and the initial delivery must be completed within six months. Other tasks can be developed in stages and optimized gradually."
Chen Jingyi said, "Intelligent investment advisory platforms need more data scientists and algorithm engineers. Yinfan has no shortage of team talent, and the core tasks can be completed with high quality and quantity."
“Time is not a hard requirement for the client,” Duan Yiheng said. “Yinfan focuses on technology, and technology is the foundation. Secretary Lin, you are responsible for maintaining close communication with GKD to ensure they are aware of our progress at all times, and at the same time, provide feedback on their latest needs so that we can make timely adjustments.”
Lin Xi: "Understood."
At the end of the meeting, Duan Yiheng discussed the allocation of project funds with the CFO. The meeting did not conclude until 12:40 PM.
Duan Yiheng left the meeting room first, and Lin Xi was a step behind. Chen Liangyi stopped her and said, "Check the data for the technical solutions needed for tomorrow's client meeting, especially the interface parameters of the payment system. After you've checked, give it to President Duan for confirmation."
Lin Xi responded and took the document.
Back in her office, Lin Xi put the documents in the filing cabinet and then planned to go downstairs for lunch.
Duan Yiheng called out to her on a business call: "Bring one for me too."
Lin Xi replied, "Understood."
Since arriving at the Taihe Road Industrial Park, Sister Mei has been ordered by Duan Yiheng to rarely bring meals over.
"I'm going out this afternoon," Duan Yiheng said. "Bring the food up so we can eat together, and take the documents Chen Jingyi gave you."
Lin Xi glanced at Duan Yiheng through the glass: "Is there a problem?"
Duan Yiheng looked at her and said, "I don't know, just in case."
"okay, I get it."
Lin Xi got her food from the cafeteria. Those who knew her would look at her with restraint and scrutiny, while those who didn't know her would just go about their business.
Fortunately, she didn't stay long, and on her way back, she ran into Sun Wenxin.
She excitedly wanted to come over and say hello, but then, as if remembering something, she smiled awkwardly.
Lin Xi walked over and said with a smile, "Don't you recognize me?"
"No." Sun Wenxin couldn't hide the curiosity in her eyes. "I'm just a little unaccustomed to suddenly finding out your identity."
Lin Xi chuckled: "I don't have two extra eyes. Just do what you always have. I'm just like you guys, going in and out of this building all day long."
Sun Wenxin hummed in agreement: "It's really worth getting to know you. You haven't eaten yet?"
"The meeting started late," Lin Xi said.
"Then hurry up and go upstairs. Let's talk on the phone. I actually have something to tell you."
Lin Xi responded and turned to go upstairs.
The two ate in Duan Yiheng's office as usual.
After the meal, Lin Xi handed the documents to Duan Yiheng.
Duan Yiheng took it and slowly began to read it.
Lin Xi rested her chin on her hand, her gaze unconsciously drifting from his sharp jawline to his cool and sexy lips.
His nose was high and straight, and his cold eyes always showed her a lot of warmth.
Before she turned 18, she grew up at home and would sometimes inevitably run into him.
He glanced at the distant view and coldly turned his eyes away.
Who would have thought that, as adults, they would embrace and kiss in a secluded corner?
As her eyelids grew heavier, Lin Xi went from resting her chin on her hand to lying face down, and unknowingly fell asleep.
Duan Yiheng chuckled, and after she fell into a deep sleep, he got up and carried her into the lounge.
He spent some more time reading the document, then put it on the bedside table, lifted the covers, and lay down.
The lounge was filled with familiar scents for Lin Xi, and she slept deeper and deeper, as if the world had turned dark.
Even the weather seemed to join in the fun; as a sudden downpour lashed out, Lin Xi abruptly opened her eyes.
The surroundings were dim, but enough for her to clearly outline Duan Yiheng's features.
She bit her lip hard to suppress her gasp, and after a moment, she realized she had fallen asleep at the dining table.
Last night, she tossed and turned until 2 a.m. because of Duan Yiheng's words, so she naturally didn't get a good rest.
Lin Xi cursed herself inwardly. Why did she have to fall asleep in Duan Yiheng's office of all places?
And then there's him, who could have easily woken her up, yet he somehow managed to get her into the lounge.
Once inside the lounge, he lay down on it himself!
Although no one dared to disturb Duan Yiheng at this time, Lin Xi still felt guilty.
She held her breath and slowly lifted the blanket, clutching the corner of it.
Suddenly! A pair of arms wrapped around her waist and pulled her into a hug.
With his hands and feet frozen in place and his body stiff, Lin Xi didn't even have the courage to turn around.
The room was quiet for about a minute before Duan Yiheng spoke up: "It's not even two o'clock yet."
Lin Xi's voice trembled: "I went to work at one o'clock."
“The project team has flexible working hours.” Duan Yiheng’s breath hit her neck, tickling Lin Xi. “The meeting in the morning was relatively late, and the consensus was to start work at 2 pm.”
"I still need to check the data in the technical plan." Lin Xi propped herself up, widening the distance between her back and his chest. "Could you let me get up?"
The rain was pounding against the window, which was really unsettling.
To Lin Xi's ears, each note sounded like the rhythm of piano keys being pressed, playing a damp and ambiguous melody.
Duan Yiheng whispered in her ear, "No."
