Chapter 1051 Passive Killing
Chapter 1051 Passive Killing
When the tunnel entrance was closed, the thick smoke was kept out, and the two walked down the steps, traversing the narrow tunnel.
The waiter spoke as he walked.
"Don't worry, sir. We're all from prominent families. I wouldn't cheat you. These pirates are no good. They killed our boss and robbed the restaurant. Luckily, they disdained doing such menial work, which is why we survived..."
As Lin Feng followed the waiter out of another exit of the tunnel, the night sky was twinkling with stars. This was the back garden of a mansion, surrounded by misty water vapor, likely located near a body of water.
Lin Feng and the waiter climbed out of the tunnel and found a stone bench to sit down.
He turned his head and looked at the restaurant in the distance, which was engulfed in flames.
"Why did you save me?"
Lin Feng scrutinized the waiter in front of him. He looked to be under twenty years old, fair-skinned and thin, yet with a determined expression.
“Sir, don’t underestimate me because of my young age. I’ve been in this business for several years and I have a keen eye. I can tell that you are not a pirate, but a high-ranking official. We people are bullied all the time. They draw their swords and slash at us whenever they are not happy. They don’t treat us like human beings at all.”
Lin Feng smiled approvingly and asked.
"What's your name?"
"Gu Chengliang's hometown is Fu'an Prefecture."
Lin Feng pointed to the restaurant that was already engulfed in flames.
"Your livelihood is ruined. What are your plans for the future?"
Gu Chengliang stared blankly at the restaurant.
“Our master was killed by pirates, and we had no choice but to work for them. We are careful every day, afraid that we might accidentally offend them and bring disaster upon ourselves. We have had enough of this life.”
Do you know where the pirates keep their supplies?
"It's probably in the Luan family mansion on the west side of the city, where security is tightest and no one is allowed to get close."
Gu Chengliang didn't know where the grain was, but he knew that something was amiss.
Lin Feng nodded and pondered for a moment.
"If you wish to follow me, you may wait at the dock outside the city."
Lin Feng glanced at the sky and decided to search for the pirates' grain depot. He got up, left a message, and walked out of the garden.
Gu Chengliang remained silent and watched Lin Feng leave.
After climbing over the wall and leaving the garden, Lin Feng determined his direction and turned to head west of the city.
The city was in chaos at this time, with cavalrymen galloping through the streets from time to time, and many small groups of pirates moving through the slightly wider alleys.
Lin Feng was in a narrow, pitch-black alley, and he was able to move steadily and quickly by relying entirely on his keen senses.
He deliberately chose to use alleyways to avoid the pirates.
We are gradually approaching the west side of the city.
Finally, in a slightly wider alley, several torches appeared ahead, and someone ran towards them carrying a torch.
Lin Feng looked to both sides, then leaped onto a high wall. Inside the wall were trees, and he clung to the branches, waiting for the pirates to pass.
Before the pirate patrol squad beneath his feet had even passed, Lin Feng felt as if he were being watched. The next moment, there was a sound of wind breaking through the night sky.
Lin Feng turned his body slightly and heard a "thud" as an arrow pierced the tree trunk beside his face.
The trembling arrow fletched out a buzzing sound.
Wow, someone's watching from up there.
Going into alleyways is fine, but once you peek out, someone will spot you.
Lin Feng ducked again, and another arrow struck the spot on his head where it had just been.
A master has arrived.
Lin Feng chuckled, loosened his grip on the tree trunk, and fell freely to the ground.
He landed silently on the ground, and a few steps away was the patrol team of pirates who had just passed by.
I ran quickly to the other end of the alley. After a dozen or so steps, many dark figures appeared on the rooftops and walls. I don't know how many pirates were gathering in this direction.
Left with no other choice, Lin Feng jumped up from the spot, grabbed the top of the wall with one hand, and flipped his body into a house.
The pirates who had been tracking him were very shrewd and immediately spotted Lin Feng's trail. Someone whistled, and the dark figure on the rooftop changed direction again and darted over.
At this moment, Lin Feng had already entered the house. Beside him was a brick and tile house with its doors and windows tightly closed.
Lin Feng knew that a house like this was almost impossible for a large family to live in, so he had no qualms about it.
Seeing many blurry, swaying black shadows rushing close, he knew that killing was inevitable. He leaned back, smashed open the door, and climbed into the room.
The shadowy figures quickly surrounded the house. One of them, carrying a straight knife, waved and charged into the house from both the front and back doors.
Lin Feng sighed. He had originally avoided the danger by traveling in the first place, precisely because he didn't want to kill too many people.
To his surprise, these pirates were like a pack of hyenas, with an incredibly keen sense of smell. Despite his own skills, he couldn't escape their pursuit.
Of course, Lin Feng didn't want to delve into whether or not someone was deliberately trying to avoid it.
The two pirates who entered the house brandished their straight swords as they defended against unseen attacks in the darkness.
However, despite their impenetrable movements with their straight swords, a small gap still opened up, and the icy cold water seeped into their throats.
His tense body suddenly deflated like a punctured balloon, all his strength receded, his legs went weak, and his consciousness plunged into absolute darkness.
Lin Feng turned and retreated into the inner room, where he found a bed. A curtain covered the front of the large wooden bed, and he noticed that the entire wooden bed was shaking.
Clearly, the people inside had discovered the intruder and were trembling with fear.
Lin Feng ignored him and thrust his straight knife backward, swiftly piercing the throat of a pirate.
Without pausing for a moment, he smashed open the window of the inner room and crawled out.
Since there's no way to avoid it, then let's fight our way out. They're coming here to die, so they can't blame Lin Feng for being cruel.
He jumped from the yard onto the wall, then flipped over and jumped onto the roof ridge.
During their march, they had already cut down three pirates who tried to stop them.
After quickly getting his bearings, Lin Feng leaped westward.
Arrows whizzed past him, and black-clad warriors kept rushing up, tumbling and falling after being stabbed, their straight blades smashing against the roof tiles with a loud crash.
It's unknown how many black-clad warriors were chopped off the roof by Lin Feng, but some still rushed up, recklessly swinging their swords forward.
No matter how many warriors were around, they could not hinder Lin Feng's progress in the slightest. The straight sword in his hand slashed out with flowing grace, each strike bringing forth a spray of blood.
Arrows flew from afar, and Lin Feng used his straight sword to slightly deflect one of them, causing it to change direction and pierce the chest of a pirate who had just rushed onto the roof.
Another pirate was stabbed and tumbled down.
Lin Feng performed these movements as if he had practiced them countless times. Not a single move was useless, and even his footwork did not deviate from his direction by the slightest.
After passing through a series of houses, we finally saw a large courtyard with many round, pointed granaries.
At this moment, more shadowy figures appeared around Lin Feng. Many armored soldiers, holding spears, surrounded the house from below.
Spears suddenly appeared everywhere, and more archers gathered in this direction, while countless arrows rained down from all directions.
