Chapter 1916 Latitude and Rank
Chapter 1916 Latitude and Rank
Zhou Chuyuan asked me a question about dimensions and levels. He asked, "What dimension world do I belong to, and what level am I at?" He said he was a little confused about these two points. I thought about it and explained it to him. While these two questions aren't directly related, they do share a common point: they must be on the same line. It's like these are intersecting lines, not parallel, but infinitely intersecting. We currently live in a three-dimensional world, like a three-dimensional world. What we see are three-dimensional structures. The space and time we experience are collectively called spacetime, but our spacetime is four-dimensional. Being able to control four-dimensional space means we can control time and space, but these things are right in front of us, yet we can't see or touch them. We can't see the boundaries of spacetime, nor can we touch time and stop it. Besides, there's the level I just mentioned. These civilization levels are just one explanation from scientists. They can be divided into levels one to ten, or levels one to three. According to our current calculations, we haven't even reached level one, so we're not very clear about the subsequent classifications. The specifics of this classification... The difference lies in the technological development we are in, and not in time and space. So one is vertical, and the other is horizontal. According to this logic, we should be developing faster, so we cultivators should be at a higher level. However, in the same time and space, our dimension is not that high. But we can travel through time and space and change things, proving that we are still faster than them. But their goals are different from ours. According to their theory, if they succeed, they will be many times higher than us. But in the next few hundred or thousand years, they may not be able to surpass us. We are also progressing. Perhaps at a certain point in time and space, we will be on the same line. When we step onto that line at the same time, perhaps our goals will be the same. I sighed helplessly. I suddenly thought of my own position so far away. Perhaps I have strayed too far. Now I am also far away from our so-called reality. When we escape reality, everything around us quickly regresses, and only our consciousness breaks through the sky. I admire the people I know. Each of them harbors a grand ideal, perhaps nurtured from childhood by their families, or perhaps neglected by their parents, eventually leading them to live for themselves. Whatever their reasons, they all seem to eventually align with our own path. When these paths diverge, we may feel sadness, perhaps loneliness—that's human nature. But then again, perhaps these aren't what we're after. We try to hold onto these people, but they can never return to our world. We try to reach out and hold onto this world, but I find that everything seems to be drifting further away. When parallel lines that should never intersect meet again, when these people return to our side, our almost extinguished fighting spirit is rekindled. Everyone's back. Often, we spend our entire lives pursuing just a glimmer of starlight. Some people aren't afraid to die because they understand that even if they're gone, someone else will pursue their dreams. Dreams take root and sprout in people's hearts. It's like a seed slowly growing into a towering tree in the soil. This tree isn't unattainable; it can represent our ideals and hopes. A few decades can bring about tremendous changes in the world. Even if we don't recognize it when we return, we still feel a sense of familiarity. The only thing that hasn't changed is human warmth. As long as these people are still there, their circumstances won't change much. Lifestyles will undergo natural selection, gradually eliminating those that threaten personal safety. Sometimes, these values also exist within us. Even as everyone slowly dies out, generation after generation continues endlessly. Good ideas will eventually be passed down, while the dross should be replaced. Every generation makes improvements. If we only reminisce about the past and don't look forward to the future, then people are still learning to crawl instead of walking upright. Therefore, eliminating some things is a good thing for human development. Life is cyclical and endless. The old day will eventually pass, and the new day will eventually arrive.
